The Enemy – Lie To Me EP

Band websitelabel website

After releasing several singles and albums during the early 80ies through regarded record labels such as Rot Record and Fallout Rerords, the band took a long long break. Twenty years later the band is back again.

In 2012 the band released a CD-single by themselves. The newly founded American record label Rebel Sound decided to give the single a full 7″ treatment: they reissued the single in a limited edition of 300 copies (100 red, 100 white and 100 black), new artwork and a bonustrack.

In terms of music it surprises me how closely the band approaches their old sound. But apart from references to their 80ies era they remind of Sunderland bands like Red Alert and Red London but also English Dogs and maybe a little Stiff Little Fingers cross my mind while playing this EP.

I just read on their website the band called it a day again and maybe this will be their last farewell. I hope they once reconsider this decision, because this EP shows they’re able to keep it up for a few more years.
